SIERRA STAR MASTER PLAN
Golf, ski and signature hotel anchored community
Mammoth Lakes, California
Developed by Intrawest Resorts Ltd.
Partially completed
Sierra Star MasterPlan: Projects
Sierra Star is a 229 acre (93 Hectare) master planned community located in the heart of the resort city of Mammoth Lakes, California. Surrounded by the Sierra Nevada mountains, lakes and spectacular scenery, this area was planned by Intrawest Placemaking as a golf- and skiing focused community with homes ranging from single family to townhome, three to four storey wood frame and mixed-use condominium hotel.
The development was planned to be anchored by a four or five star branded hotel.
Six of the development sites were completed prior to the economic slow down of 2007/2008.
The approvals process involved revising a long-standing master plan with the City of Mammoth Lakes Neighbourhood District Planning Process and EIR (Environmental Impact Review) and agency approvals through CEQA (California Environmental Quality Act), the Lahontan Water Quality Board,
and the Great Basin Unified Air Pollution Control District.
