Platform Porn:

Sunny Leone

Not quite as exciting as it sounds, but, the day started out with a bang (of sorts…)

When your train is over an hour late due to very heavy fog, what else are you going to do at 7:30am, on a train platform in Agra, other than entertain the entire platform with a good selection of Indian rap videos and Rupesh’s favourite sexy videos (sound only shared on those I think…lol), mixed with some random laughter from an Indian and a Canuck?

Really, what else would you do?

Rupesh is my “get the white guy on the train” guide this morning. Early 20’s, B.Arts degree, very friendly kid. His first job of the day, get me and my bags (yes, I had to buy another suitcase last night) into the correct train, car and seat, then he is off to his day job.

Rupesh has never heard of Beyoncé.

Not sure how videos came up, but after a quick chat about our cities of origin and work stuff, out came his Samsung and the video party began.

His favourite actress, and raciest video, is Sunny Leone, a very popular, Canadian born ex-porn actress (kudos to her!).  She is, very hot. I particularly likely the wine barrel bathtub scene!  G-rated video here.

Trains coming and going, announcements blaring in Hindi and English (constant announcements!), kids begging, dogs wandering, tourists straining to understand the announcements (loud, but barely intelligible).

Rupesh shared his top movies and singers, then I gave him some of mine. He had also never heard of Drake, Sia, Coldplay (he did name Brittany as one of his favs) and I had never heard of:

Namaste London (movie), Tiger Zinda Hai, Baahubali 2 (best selling), actress Sunny Leone, Sapna Chaudhary, Sharry Mann (Punjabi music), Gururandhanba (singer), J Star (Punjabi rapper)

Boarded the train a little bit more Indian pop-culture aware, and to a bit of an Indian rap groove (which may have scared some of the locals, that and a relatively large guy tossing two suitcases over their heads (yes, I had to buy another bag, see entry on bartering and future entry on learning to budget….)

Group of Germans beside us on the platform commented on the video entertainment just before we boarded. They were either entertained or annoyed, so hard to tell with Germans…;)
